Providing hope, education, and care to orphaned and vulnerable children in Mubi, Adamawa State
Support Our MissionAma Bethel Orphans Care Initiative is a faith-based, community-rooted organisation committed to providing education, skills development, spiritual growth, and loving care to orphaned and vulnerable children in Mubi, Adamawa State. We believe every child deserves a chance to thrive, regardless of their circumstances.
Ama means "Mother" in the founder's tribe.
Bethel means "House of God."
Together, Ama Bethel is a Mother's House of God — a place where every child is received as God's own.
The vision of Ama Bethel began when our founder was just 11 years old, inspired by a deep compassion for orphaned and vulnerable children. Though the dream did not immediately materialise, visits to orphanages and children in need kept the flame alive through the years.
Years later, after experiencing the pain of three miscarriages, the founder turned to God in prayer and made a solemn promise: if blessed with a child, she would dedicate herself to caring for other children. That very same month, she conceived.
At four months of pregnancy, in faith, she named the unborn child Bethel and registered the organisation as Ama Bethel Orphanage Home Foundation. When Bethel was born, he grew up as a friend and brother to the children at the orphanage — a living symbol of the promise God kept.
Over time, the vision expanded beyond housing children. Recognising the broader needs of orphans and vulnerable children, the organisation shifted from a traditional orphanage model to a community-based approach — ensuring children live with loving families while still receiving full support. This led to its renaming as Ama Bethel Orphans Care Initiative.

View DocumentUnlike a traditional orphanage, Ama Bethel takes a community-based approach — children remain with loving families while we provide the education, skills, healthcare, and spiritual support they need to flourish.
Providing quality education, books, uniforms, and learning materials to ensure every child has access to knowledge and opportunity. We recently completed registration with the Ministry of Education, giving our school official recognition.
Regular medical checkups, nutritious meals, and healthcare support to ensure our children grow healthy and strong. We partner with local clinics to provide preventive care and treatment.
A secure, loving environment where children can feel safe, valued, and cared for while we work toward a permanent facility. We are actively fundraising for land and construction.
Nurturing faith and character through biblical teaching, prayer, and Christ-centred values. We believe spiritual roots give children resilience for life's challenges.
Equipping children with practical skills and life lessons to prepare them for independent, successful futures — from financial literacy to vocational training for older children.
Working to reconnect children with extended family members whenever safe and possible, while maintaining ongoing support and monitoring to ensure their wellbeing.
Engaging the wider Mubi community through awareness programmes, feeding outreaches, and partnerships with churches and local leaders to build a protective network for vulnerable children.
